Israeli forces kill two Palestinian teenagers in escalating violence in the West Bank
JERUSALEM, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Israeli forces killed two Palestinian teenagers during an overnight raid on a town near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, residents said, amid escalating violence in the region and a rising death toll.
Israeli forces shot and killed Sami Ibrahim Mashayekh, 16, and Amr Khaled al-Marbou, 18, in Kafr Aqab. The Palestinian Authority's Ministry of Health later reported that both died from their wounds. The Palestinian Authority exercises limited self-rule in the West Bank.
The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported that Israeli forces raided Kafr Aqab during the night, deployed patrols in the streets, and had snipers on rooftops who opened fire on young men from the town, resulting in the deaths of Al-Marbou and Mashayekh.
In response to a request for comment, the Israeli military referred the matter to the Israeli Border Police, a unit of the Israeli police, which has not yet responded to the request for comment.
