The value of bills paid in the Kingdom rose to 72.42 billion riyals in February.

Mubasher – Badour Al-Raei: The value of bills paid in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via the SADAD system rose by 12.15% year-on-year in February, an increase of SAR 7.85 billion compared to the same period last year.
The total amount of bills paid through the SADAD system (through SADAD and other channels) rose to approximately SAR 72.42 billion in February, compared to SAR 64.57 billion in the same month in 2024, according to Mubasher statistics based on data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
The value of bills paid through SADAD increased by approximately 9.9% year-on-year, reaching SAR 64.09 billion, compared to SAR 58.32 billion in the same month of 2024, an increase of SAR 5.76 billion.
Similarly, the value of bills paid through other channels rose to SAR 8.33 billion in February 2025, compared to SAR 6.25 billion in the same period last year, representing a 33.3% increase, equivalent to SAR 2.08 billion.
Government services bills accounted for 67.43% of the value of bills paid in the Kingdom in February 2025, at a value of SAR 48.83 billion. Bills for the finance, insurance, and business services sector followed, accounting for 18.13% of the total value of bills paid during that period, at a value of SAR 13.11 billion.
Telecommunications and utility bills came in third place, with a value of 8.45 billion riyals, followed by transportation services bills with a value of 178.36 million riyals, then education services with a value of 51.75 million riyals, followed by technology, media and entertainment sector bills with 31.19 million riyals, and finally other miscellaneous bills paid with a value of 1.76 billion riyals.
The number of bills paid in February of this year reached 29.24 million, compared to 29.78 million in the same month of 2024, a decrease of 1.81%.
The number of bills paid through SADAD reached 24.77 million in February of this year, compared to 26.08 million in the corresponding month last year. Meanwhile, the number of bills paid through other channels reached approximately 4.47 million, compared to 3.70 million in the corresponding month last year.
The majority of bills paid in February were for telecommunications and utility services, with 14.38 million bills, followed by government services, with 10.17 million, and finance, insurance, and business services, with 3.96 million.
The total amount of bills paid through the SADAD payment system increased by 14.17% in 2024, reaching approximately SAR 905.24 billion, compared to SAR 792.89 billion in 2023. The number of bills during the past year reached approximately 412.53 million, compared to 357.27 million in 2023.
It's worth noting that the SADAD system went live on October 4, 2004. The system works with all banks and digital wallets in the Kingdom to connect bill payment processes to a single point of contact, making it easier for individuals. This allows customers to pay bills from any local bank or wallet.
Sadad is a national payment system owned by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA). It is a secure, practical, and easy-to-use system that allows for billing from anywhere in the world.
The SADAD system operates with the support of the Saudi Central Bank and is managed and operated by Saudi Payments. It was first launched in 2004 as a central system for digital bill payment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Today, SADAD facilitates bill payment for individuals, banks, companies, and government agencies by connecting billers with beneficiary customers, enabling them to pay their bills using a unique mechanism across the Kingdom.
