Al Wahda coach: Our current training camp revealed errors in our performance.

- Al Wahda's Portuguese coach, Jose de Moares, said on Friday that the team's training camp in Germany revealed several errors in its performance.

De Moares, 59, took over the team last June, succeeding Slovenian Darko Milanic, after Al Wahda finished last season in third place, 15 points behind league champions Shabab Al Ahli.

"The camp started off positively," the Portuguese coach said in a video clip posted by the club on its X platform account. "We played two matches, and in the first (against German side Giebenbach), we showed great harmony and organization, achieving a 4-0 victory and creating many other scoring opportunities."

"In today's match, we played against a tougher team competing in the German second division (Jahn Regensburg) and the match ended in a 1-1 draw," De Moares added.

He continued, "This result is positive (from which we learned) the mistakes we made."

"We played well, and the match was a test of our players' quality in tough matches. We created several chances that could have given us a better result, but we didn't take advantage of them, and the match ended in a draw."

"It's still early in the season and our goal is to improve and develop the team, and we will continue working to achieve our desired goals," De Moares said.

Earlier this month, Al Wahda signed Argentinian duo Geronimo Rivera and Lucas Pera, Iranian Mobin Dehghan, and Spanish Arnau Pradas.

De Moirais spoke about these signings, saying, "They are still adapting to the team and their teammates, but they are committed and have great quality and will be an excellent addition to us."

Al Wahda will begin their league campaign by hosting Ajman on August 17.
