The Zubair Center for Enterprise Development has begun implementing training workshops for the “Azm” brand initiative, which it launched in cooperation with the Al Jisr Charitable Foundation and the Ministry of Social Development in order to empower entrepreneurs with special needs. This initiative aimed to develop products made by people with disabilities by creating their own brand and marketing it inside and outside the Sultanate. The Zubair Center for Enterprise Development offers these workshops within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement that was signed with the Al Jisr Foundation at the beginning of this year, with the aim of enhancing the culture of entrepreneurship among people with special needs.
The consultants at the Zubair Center for Enterprise Development made field visits to rehabilitation centers throughout Muscat and conducted many meetings with workers with disabilities, supervisors, caregivers, as well as service providers. After that, the center analyzed and evaluated the training requirements of the target groups. Based on these assessments, a comprehensive plan has been developed to implement training programs for entrepreneurship, which will last for three weeks, and include practical applications, with the participation of four rehabilitation centers affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and two entrepreneurs with special needs. The consultants will provide guidance and commercial and marketing consultations to raise the level and quality of the products.
Regarding this initiative, Ali Shaker, Head of the Business Development and Partnerships Sector, said, “We hope that this experience will be inspiring for all workers with disabilities, as we aim, through this cooperation with Al-Jisr Foundation, to encourage them to develop their skills in entrepreneurship and contribute effectively to the national economy.” He pointed out that training supervisors and administrators for these groups of people with disabilities would develop their business from a commercial standpoint and improve the level and sustainability of the products. This cooperation is an example of a successful partnership between private sector institutions and civil society and governmental institutions with the aim of empowering entrepreneurs in all fields, and this reflects our serious commitment to promoting equality and equal opportunities for all members of society. We emphasize providing support and guidance to participants through customized training aimed at developing their skills in manufacturing their products, hoping for their independence and increasing their contribution. in the local economy.
