A French diplomatic source: The foreign ministers of the three European countries asked the Iranian foreign minister to return to the diplomatic track immediately to reach a verifiable and sustainable nuclear agreement.
PARIS, July 17 (Reuters) - The foreign ministers of France, Britain and Germany and the European Union's top diplomat told Iran's foreign minister on Thursday that Tehran must immediately resume diplomatic efforts to reach a "verifiable and sustainable" nuclear deal, a French diplomatic source said.
"The ministers also confirmed their intention to use the snapback mechanism to impose international sanctions on Iran if there is no tangible progress toward such an agreement by the end of the summer," the source added, following the ministers' first phone call since Israeli and US airstrikes targeting Iran's nuclear program in June.
