Egypt to participate in the Gulf Youth Cup instead of the UAE

- The Gulf Football Association announced that Egypt will participate in the Gulf Cup for youth teams, scheduled for August 28 to September 9 in the Saudi city of Abha, instead of the UAE team.

The Gulf Federation said on its XN account, "The Egyptian national team will replace the UAE, which has declined to participate. Egypt will represent a qualitative technical addition to the tournament and an important opportunity to prepare for the FIFA U-20 World Cup."

The tournament draw will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, via video conference.

In turn, the Egyptian Football Association said in a statement, "The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, headed by Hany Abu Rida, has approved the national team's participation in the Gulf Youth Cup, which will be held in the Saudi city of Abha.

The Federation has tasked the technical staff, led by Ahmed Al-Kass, with preparing for the tournament as part of the team's preparations for the World Cup, scheduled to be held in Qatar next November.
