The 21st edition of the Forum attracts senior officials, executives and thinkers from around the world to discuss outstanding issues

Doha: QatarDebate hosted a new round of in-depth discussions on the sidelines of the 21st edition of the Doha Forum, bringing together senior officials, executives and thinkers from around the world for dialogue under the slogan “Building a Common Future.”

Participants in the forum, which was launched today at the Sheraton Doha Convention Center and will continue for two days, will discuss the challenges facing international relations and security, economic policy and development, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and sustainability.

For its part, the QatarDebate Center organized a series of discussion sessions on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, where on the first day of the forum it hosted a session on economic policy, and another on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, in which speakers from Qatar, Brazil and Cameroon participated, where they exchanged their views and visions on the most important issues. Omar Al-Shaghri, a Syrian public speaker and human rights defender, gave a speech opening the first session, during which speakers discussed the role of economic policy in maintaining social cohesion, reducing class division, and preserving peace. The session moderated by Reem Al Kubaisi included speakers Ahmed Al Nuaimi from Qatar, along with Eddy Ahmed from Cameroon, and Jess Peixoto from Brazil.

In the second session moderated by Amanda Chan, Qatari speaker Wadha Al-Humaidi discussed the complex challenges posed by the development and spread of artificial intelligence, especially with regard to data security and privacy.

Reem Ali, a Sudanese-American activist, will deliver the opening speech for the second day’s sessions, which will be held on Monday, December 11, in which participants will discuss the topics of international relations and sustainability. The first session will be moderated by Mabrat Wasi, with the participation of Reem Ali and Reem Al-Aqili from Qatar, where they will discuss the role of international relations in establishing global security.

On the other hand, Sarah Al-Maadeed, a prominent Qatari speaker and debater in the Qatar team, will moderate the second session with the participation of Dana Ziani from Qatar and Gastón Ocampo from Argentina to discuss the importance of adopting sustainable solutions in order to advance climate goals and also to achieve human development.

It is worth noting that, following the recent conclusion of the Doha Forum: Youth Edition, QatarDebate Center’s participation in the Doha Forum provides a platform for presenting ideas and viewpoints in order to build a better world with the participation of global leaders.
