- The WEEX platform currently serves more than 6 million users worldwide.
- WEEX's UAE headquarters has 600 employees.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: WEEX , a platform serving over 6 million users, has opened its headquarters in the United Arab Emirates. The Dubai headquarters has over 600 employees and plans to hire an additional 50 in the next two years. Although the platform is not yet regulated by the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, it is seeking a license.
Andrew Weiner, Vice President of WEEX, stated that the opening of the UAE headquarters is part of WEEX's rapid expansion plan in the Middle East and North Africa region. He said, "We plan to expand our team in Dubai over the next one to two years, adding 30 to 50 new employees to support local operations and better deploy services." Dubai will serve as a key hub for the platform's global expansion, strengthening local operations and team-building efforts to enhance the platform's global strength and impact.
The WEEX platform has served over 6.2 million users in over 130 countries, with a daily trading volume of $5 billion and more than 1,700 pairs. The platform also maintains a 1,000-bitcoin security fund to protect user assets.
The platform also contributes to sponsoring and supporting the Token2049 event, which will be held in Dubai from April 30 to May 1, 2025.
It's no surprise to see cryptocurrency platforms turning to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to offer local services to users. Chainalysis's 2024 Crypto Geographies report states that the MENA region has become the seventh-largest cryptocurrency market in the world, with Turkey and Qatar ranked as the largest, and Saudi Arabia and Qatar as the fastest-growing.
