Mubasher - Mohamed Shaker: UAE stock market indices declined at the close of trading on Monday, affected by US President Donald Trump's announcement of new tariffs on 184 countries, which went into effect immediately. This dealt a major economic shock and setback to most countries around the world .

According to data from the UAE's financial markets, the Dubai Financial Market incurred losses of AED 21.083 billion, while the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange incurred losses of AED 82 billion, for a total of AED 103.082 billion.

The Dubai and Abu Dhabi stock exchanges attracted liquidity totaling AED 2.98 billion, distributed across 68,265 transactions.

At the close of trading today, the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) index fell 3.07 percent, reaching its lowest level since last November at 4,799 points, amid trading volume of 430.749 million shares valued at AED 1.282 billion.

This came amid a 3.31 percent drop in TECOM shares, a 9.42 percent drop in Talabat shares, a 6.59 percent drop in Taaleem Holding shares, an 8.75 percent drop in Shuaa Capital shares, a 1.56 percent drop in Salik shares, and an 8.50 percent drop in Bank Al Salam shares.

Dubai's market capitalization reached AED 847.849 billion at the close of trading today, compared to AED 868.932 billion at the close of trading on Friday, with losses amounting to AED 21.083 billion.

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange index also fell by 2.58 percent, reaching its lowest level since last June at 8,949 points, amid trading volume of 489.360 million shares valued at AED 1.697 billion.

This came amid a 4.86 percent decline in Abu Dhabi Aviation shares, a 1.91 percent decline in Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank shares, a 4.43 percent decline in Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank shares, a 4.98 percent decline in ADNOC Gas shares, a 5.02 percent decline in ADNOC Drilling shares, and a 2.25 percent decline in ADNOC Logistics shares.

The market capitalization of Abu Dhabi stocks reached AED 2.753 trillion at the close of trading today, compared to AED 2.835 trillion at the close of trading on Friday, with losses amounting to AED 82 billion.
