PRESSR: Nissan achieves 10% growth in the Middle East during fiscal year 2024.

  • Growing demand for SUVs and crossovers such as the Patrol and X-Trail has driven sales of this category of Nissan vehicles to grow by 17% year-on-year.

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Nissan announced a 10% year-on-year sales growth in the Middle East for fiscal year 2024 (April 2024 – March 2025). Its regional business unit, which covers 18 markets including the Gulf states, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the Levant, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), achieved strong results driven by increased demand for SUVs and crossovers, which accounted for more than 55% of total sales volume.

Nissan's SUV models recorded a 17% year-on-year increase in sales in the Middle East, driven by the global debut of the all-new Nissan Patrol in Abu Dhabi. Patrol models saw a 21% increase in sales. At the end of fiscal year 2024, Nissan expanded its SUV lineup with the launch of the Magnite, a compact SUV, which was regionally launched in Saudi Arabia, offering an economical option for city living.

Saudi Arabia remains Nissan's leading market in the Middle East, accounting for more than 35% of total regional sales in fiscal year 2024, making the Saudi market a key pillar of Nissan's regional strategy. SUVs have been well-received by customers in Saudi Arabia, with Pathfinder sales increasing by 27% and Kicks by 10%. This reflects the centrality of the Saudi market to Nissan's growth, particularly in the SUV segment, which has witnessed strong demand in recent years.

Commenting on these results, Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President of Nissan & Infiniti in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and CIS, said: “Fiscal year 2024 represented a strategic turning point for the Nissan brand in the region. In a dynamic and changing market environment with increasingly evolving consumer expectations, we continued to focus on enhancing long-term value, strong partnerships, and the introduction of a competitive and growing SUV lineup, in addition to strengthening our operational flexibility across all our markets.”

Sabbagh added: “Saudi Arabia is our largest market in the region, and Nissan’s sales performance in the region reflects the strength of our strategy and the growing confidence of our valued customers and authorized dealer partners alike. As we look to the future, we see clear opportunities for further growth, particularly in the SUV segment, supported by a strong product lineup for fiscal year 2025 and deeper collaboration with our partners across the region.”

For his part, Adeeb Takieddine, CEO of Nissan Saudi Arabia, commented: “We are very proud of our achievements during the 2024 fiscal year. These results are the result of the growing customer confidence in our high-quality vehicles and advanced technologies that meet market needs. Our outstanding performance in the Kingdom reflects the continued growth we are achieving in this vital market, especially in light of the increasing demand for our four-wheel drive vehicles .”

These results have resulted in the Kingdom contributing more than a third of our regional sales, reflecting the depth of our relationship with our customers in Saudi Arabia and our constant commitment to keeping pace with the rapid transformations taking place in the Kingdom, reflecting its future aspirations. As we move into fiscal year 2025, I would like to emphasize Nissan's continued commitment to building on this success by driving innovation, offering more mobility options, and providing an exceptional experience and unique services to our customers in the Kingdom ."

In addition to Saudi Arabia, Gulf markets played a major role in driving regional sales growth. These markets saw a 16% increase in sales, with Qatar emerging as the best performing market with a 32% increase. The UAE saw a 16% increase in sales, while Bahrain recorded an 11% increase. The Patrol achieved notable gains in these markets, with sales increasing by 80% in Qatar and more than 30% in both the UAE and Bahrain. Additionally, the X-Trail recorded double-digit growth in several key markets, including a 32% increase in the UAE and a 25% increase in Kuwait.

Product performance in the Middle East demonstrated the strength of Nissan's portfolio, with the Pathfinder achieving a remarkable 96% year-on-year increase, driven by strong demand in the UAE. Meanwhile, the Kicks saw a regional increase of 28%, with particularly strong performance in the UAE and Bahrain. This momentum was further enhanced by the launch of the all-new Kicks in February 2025, featuring enhanced features and a refreshed design that appealed to drivers, particularly the region's young, tech-savvy demographic.

Entering fiscal year 2025, Nissan is building on a solid foundation, having enhanced its product lineup with distinctive models and introduced innovative new products. Building on this momentum, Nissan will continue to implement its strategy and achieve progress during fiscal year 2025 through product development and the launch of new models across the region. With the recent launch of the new Magnite and Kicks, Nissan is strengthening its SUV and crossover offerings and continuing its focus on meeting the growing aspirations of its customers for these vehicle categories. Thanks to its commitment to innovation, quality, and customer engagement, Nissan is poised for sustained growth in the Middle East markets.
