Riyadh - Mubasher: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture signed a contract to allocate an agricultural land with an area of two million square meters in Al-Aqiq Governorate in Al-Baha region, to establish an advanced project for the production of broiler poultry, in a step that supports the development of the livestock sector and enhances food security in the Kingdom.

The project aims to meet the growing demand for broiler poultry products in local markets by applying the latest sustainable breeding and production techniques, while ensuring the provision of high-quality meat, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Monday.

The project also seeks to be the first choice for the targeted sectors in the Kingdom, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to achieve self-sufficiency and enhance agricultural investments, as the annual production capacity is equivalent to 30 to 38 million broiler chickens.

According to the contract, the investor is obligated to obtain the necessary licenses before starting implementation, and to adhere to the plans approved by the Ministry, while ensuring that the land is returned in good condition upon expiration of the contract term in the event that it is not renewed.

This project is an important step in the efforts of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to support agricultural investments and enhance sustainability in the livestock production sector, which contributes to achieving food security and strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leading country in agricultural production.
