On June 9th, 2025 EDT, Apple Inc.(AAPL.US) 's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) commenced.
Following the groundbreaking new categories introduced at WWDC 2023 (Vision Pro) and the software-centric focus at WWDC 2024 (Apple Intelligence), WWDC 2025 seems comparatively subdued but still features many highlights. These include the system's annual naming convention, the launch of a new liquid glass design language after 13 years, and the deep integration of Apple Intelligence.
It's noteworthy that Apple's stock typically exhibits modest performance during the WWDC launch. However, over a longer term, the stock tends to increase. Historical data shows that following the event, Apple's stock shows considerable gains: an average rise of 8.32% after 20 days and 10.85% after 50 days.
As of June 20, after eight trading days following the WWDC, Apple's stock price has fallen by about 0.22% in total. Is the stock price performance worth looking forward to after 20 and 50 days?

Here are the highlights of the 2025 Apple WWDC conference:
System Naming and Design
Naming Innovation: The operating system naming adopts a year-based suffix system, such as iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, etc., replacing the traditional numerical numbering.
Liquid Glass Design: The "Liquid Glass" design language is introduced and applied to all systems, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. It features semi-transparent elements and light and shadow reflection effects, creating a sense of three-dimensional depth. The style is inspired by visionOS.

It integrates AI functionality to create custom Genmoji. The real-time translation function is enhanced. The Maps app can predict traffic using AI. The Wallet app integrates multiple types of cards and consolidates consumption information with AI.
- macOS 26: Codenamed Tahoe, it allows for customizable folder colors and the addition of emojis. The continuity and interoperability have been improved. The "Shortcuts" and "Spotlight Search" functions have been significantly enhanced with the support of AI.

- visionOS 26: The widgets are more futuristic. The "Self-Imaging" function is more realistic. It supports Sony's PlayStation VR2 Sense game controller. The gesture tracking has been upgraded to a 90hz refresh rate.
AI-Related Developments: The Foundation Models framework is introduced, allowing third-party developers to call Apple Intelligence's core large language model and integrate it into applications, enabling offline operation, etc. AI is applied in various aspects, such as the real-time translation function of AirPods (expected to be launched with iOS 26), screen recognition, AI coaches in health applications, Shortcuts, and Spotlight Search.
Other: This conference is a pure software event with no hardware releases or updates. The opening short film previews Apple's original movie "F1". It emphasizes the enhancement of productivity functions across systems, such as the introduction of a global menu bar similar to Mac in iPadOS.
