Kosmos Energy Ltd. KOS | 2.16 | +22.03% |
We'd be surprised if Kosmos Energy Ltd. (NYSE:KOS) shareholders haven't noticed that the Chairman & CEO, Andrew Inglis, recently sold US$205k worth of stock at US$1.39 per share. However, the silver lining is that the sale only reduced their total holding by 3.9%, so we're hesitant to read anything much into it, on its own.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Kosmos Energy
In fact, the recent sale by Andrew Inglis was the biggest sale of Kosmos Energy shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (US$1.48). As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. We note that the biggest single sale was only 3.9% of Andrew Inglis's holding.
