- South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Wednesday that "boycott politics doesn't work," when asked about U.S. President Donald Trump's decision not to send any government officials to the G20 leaders' summit in Johannesburg later this month.

Speaking to reporters outside South Africa's parliament, Ramaphosa added that the United States' absence from the summit would be their loss, a broadcast by local TV station Newzroom Afrika showed.
