ANKARA, July 18 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 40.38 against the U.S. dollar at 0435 GMT, compared with Thursday's close of 40.25.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 2.46% lower at 10,370.71 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares tracked Wall Street higher on Friday as still-strong U.S. economic data and robust corporate earnings offset tariff worries, while the yen headed toward a second successive week of loss ahead of Japan's upper house election.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME
President Tayyip Erdogan will attend the graduation ceremony of soldiers at the National Defence University in Istanbul. (1130 GMT)

ISRAEL-SYRIA CONFLICT
President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday Turkey will not allow Syria to be divided or its multicultural structure and territorial integrity harmed, after Israel's actions sought to "sabotage" a ceasefire in the country.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa discussed Israel's attacks on Damascus in a phone call on Thursday, Turkey's presidency said, adding Erdogan had voiced support for Damascus.
Turkey played a crucial role securing a ceasefire in Syria following Israeli air strikes on Damascus including its intelligence officials having held talks with Syria's Druze leader, a Turkish security source said on Thursday.
CENBANK POLL
Turkey's central bank is expected to kick off a renewed easing cycle with a 250 basis-point rate cut to 43.50% next week, as disinflation continues and market turmoil has largely faded, a Reuters poll showed on Wednesday.
PKK DISARMAMENT
President Tayyip Erdogan risks losing support among nationalist Turkish voters in making peace with Kurdistan Workers Party militants, whose burning of weapons last week was dismissed by some as a stunt.
JAILED JOURNALIST
Turkish prosecutors have prepared an indictment seeking a prison sentence of at least five years for independent journalist Fatih Altayli over comments he made about President Tayyip Erdogan’s rule, state broadcaster TRT reported on Thursday.
TURKEY-SOUTH KOREA
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan agreed to advance cooperation in defence, nuclear power and green energy during a phone call on Thursday, Lee's office said in a statement.
