- Saudi Aramco cut its official selling prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by between 24 and 27 percent in July, while Algeria's Sonatrach cut prices by between 2 and 10 percent due to increased supply in global markets, traders said on Wednesday.

Aramco's official selling prices for July fell by $180 per ton to $580 per ton for propane, and by $220 per ton to $600 per ton for butane.

Propane and butane are two types of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), but they have different boiling points. LPG is primarily used as a fuel for cars, for heating, and as a feedstock for the production of other petrochemical products.

Sonatrach reduced the official selling price of propane for July by $57 per ton to $518 and the price of butane by $10 per ton to $600.

Saudi Aramco's official selling prices are used as a reference for contracts for the supply of liquefied petroleum gas from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific region.

Sonatrach's official selling prices are used as benchmarks for the Mediterranean and Black Sea region, including Türkiye.
