America opens investigation into Tesla crash into Texas home

WASHINGTON, June 22 (Reuters) - A U.S. department said on Monday it was opening a new special investigation into a June 19 crash in Katy, Texas, in which a Tesla reportedly used its advanced driver assistance system, killing a 76-year-old woman.
Since 2016, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened more than 36 special investigations into accidents involving Tesla vehicles suspected of using advanced driver assistance systems, such as Autopilot, resulting in 20 deaths.
