Leg injury keeps Milinkovic-Savic out of Al Hilal for about a week

- Saudi Professional League club Al Hilal announced on Friday that Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has suffered a leg injury that will keep him out for about a week.

Milinkovic-Savic, 30, is a key player in coach Simone Inzaghi's squad, having made six appearances in all competitions since the start of the season.

Al Hilal said via the X platform, "Medical examinations revealed that player Sergej Savic suffered a severe bruise to his leg. He will undergo a treatment and rehabilitation program for a week."

Al-Hilal, plagued by injuries, will play Al-Ettifaq on October 18 in the league, after the international break.

Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, Brazilian winger Malcom, Portuguese full-back João Cancelo, and Saudi midfielder Abdulelah Al-Malki are all absent from Al-Hilal due to recent injuries.

Al Hilal added that Cancelo "has begun the second phase of his rehabilitation program after sustaining an injury in the match against Al Duhail in the AFC Champions League last month."

The Saudi club added that the trio of Al-Malki, Nunez, and Malcom are continuing their rehabilitation programs in preparation for their return to action.

Al-Hilal is in sixth place with eight points, four points behind Al-Nassr, who has a perfect score after four rounds.
