March 21 (Reuters) - OpenAI said in an emailed statement to Reuters that the company will begin showing ads to all users of the free and Go versions of ChatGBT in the United States in the coming weeks.
The Information was the first to reveal this move.
OpenAI has integrated Criteo, an advertising technology platform, into its ad pilot program for the free and Go versions of ChatGBBT in the United States, Criteo said in a statement earlier this month.
The Information report stated that Criteo is urging advertisers to commit to spending between $50,000 and $100,000.
The Information added that OpenAI also advised advertisers that providing more variation in ad text and images could increase ad serving frequency and improve performance.
Reuters previously reported that OpenAI is exploring advertising as a new revenue stream as chatGBT usage rises.
The company is seeking to diversify its revenue streams in light of rising computing infrastructure costs amid increasing competition in the generative artificial intelligence sector.
