Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates: The Ministry of Finance and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Finance office in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, and His Excellency Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the aim of cooperation and partnership to create an environment It supports the business sector, advances government work, and is consistent with the UAE’s directions and strategies.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed bin Sulaiman, Director of the Public Debt Management Office, Azza Al Jasmi, Director of the Government Communications Department, and Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council Affairs Department. From the Abu Dhabi Chamber, Dr. Latifa Al Ameri, Executive Director of the Relations Building and Affairs Sector, attended the meeting. Acting membership: Hilal Al-Hamli, Special Tasks Development Advisor, Muhammad Al-Sabbagh, Information Technology Advisor, and Arif Al-Farra, Economic Advisor, along with a number of specialists in the Ministry and the Chamber.

His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khouri welcomed the attendees and said, “By establishing effective communication, the Ministry of Finance seeks to create a supportive environment that raises the levels of government work in line with the directions and strategies of the UAE.”

He said: “The Ministry of Finance attaches great importance to qualifying national cadres, developing their competencies, and refining their skills in the financial, tax, and other fields, in a way that serves the state’s directions and its commitment to developing the business environment and integrating it into various strategic sectors, which will contribute to raising competitive efficiency and enhancing the process of prosperity and progress that it is witnessing.” UAE".

For his part, His Excellency Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi stressed the Chamber’s keenness to strengthen all forms of cooperation with various institutions and bodies from the public and private sectors, to continue the process of improving the vital business environment that supports economic growth and investment opportunities at the level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with the Chamber’s endeavors to achieve its strategic goals. In terms of supporting the growth of the private sector and ensuring the ease of doing and establishing business in the emirate, cooperation with the Ministry of Finance is focused on achieving these goals. Therefore, we discussed various mechanisms of common interest through which we can provide the private sector with initiatives and programs that would support businesses and companies and encourage them to Investment, growth and development of operations, in addition to working optimally within the world-class financial and tax system provided by the UAE in general and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular.

The Ministry of Finance team reviewed 6 topics that touched on partnership with the private sector, the treasury bonds program, joint Gulf economic action, agreements to avoid double taxation and protect and encourage investment, and relations with regional and international organizations. The meeting also discussed aspects of cooperation and opportunities for partnership and integration to launch joint initiatives.

The foundations of cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the Abu Dhabi Chamber are based on the ministry’s strategy aimed at strengthening relations with international institutions and organizations, and qualifying young national cadres to enable them to engage at the highest levels in international financial organizations.
