Al Ahly announces Trezeguet's thigh injury

- Al Ahly, the Egyptian Premier League football club, announced on Saturday that their player Mahmoud Hassan (Trezeguet) suffered a cut above his left knee.

Al-Ahly stated on its website that the player’s injury required stitching his wound with five stitches, and the team doctor confirmed that Trezeguet’s condition is reassuring.

Trezeguet was injured while playing for Al Ahly in the derby match against their host Zamalek in the Egyptian League title-clinching stage yesterday.

The match ended with Al Ahly winning 3-0, bringing the defending champions' points tally to 47 and reviving their hopes of winning the title. Al Ahly trails league leaders Zamalek and second-placed Pyramids by three points, both of whom have 50 points.

Trezeguet missed a penalty kick that hit the left post, while Achraf Bencharki scored two goals and Hussein El Shahat scored one goal for the team.
