Al Ahly defeats Zamalek 3-2 and wins the Egyptian Volleyball Cup title
Cairo, April 10 (Reuters Sports Service) - Al Ahly won the Egyptian Volleyball Cup title for the 2025-2026 season after defeating their traditional rival Zamalek 3-2 in the final match on Friday.
Al-Ahly, the defending champion, won the first half of the match, which was held at the Hassan Mustafa Hall in the city of Sixth of October, with a score of 27-25, and then won the second half with a score of 25-23.
Zamalek won the third set 25-22 and then the fourth set 25-22.
The two teams played a tiebreaker set which Al-Ahly won with a score of 15-13.
Al Ahly player Omar Sharif told the club's television channel, "We rushed to win, especially in the third and fourth sets, but we achieved it in the end."
He added, "We agreed to be united and we were able to achieve victory."
Al-Ahly thus achieved all the championships of the current season after winning the titles of the League of the League, the Super Cup and the Premier League.
