Flight information and departure time

Staying up-to-date with flight information is essential during peak travel periods, as guests can visit the Manage Booking page on etihad.com or via the app to make changes to their booking, select their seat, and access other services.

Clearing travel procedures

To avoid long queues at the airport, guests are advised to arrive at Zayed International Airport at least four hours before their flight's scheduled departure time. For added convenience, Etihad offers several options for early check-in:

Online check-in is available 30 hours before flight departure via etihad.com or the airline's mobile app. After completing this step, guests can head to the airport's self-service kiosks to weigh their luggage, print their tags and boarding passes, and complete the necessary procedures in less than a minute.

For added convenience, check-in facilities are available at various points outside the airport, including:

  • Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal (open 24 hours)
  • The Fountains - Yas Mall (Open from 10 AM to 10 PM)
  • Musaffah (Open from 10 AM to 10 PM) 38 Blue, Musaffah Shabiya 11, Behind Al Madina Supermarket
  • Al Ain (Open from 10 AM to 10 PM) Lulu Hypermarket, Shakhbout Bin Sultan Street

Complete travel procedures from home

To further facilitate the travel experience, guests can now complete their flight check-in from home with the "Murafiq" service, available up to 5 hours before departure. This service allows passengers to book their baggage, choose their seats, and receive their boarding passes and baggage tags from home in Abu Dhabi, starting from AED 185.

Upon returning to Abu Dhabi, a baggage delivery service is available, allowing guests to skip the baggage wait while the Marafiq team collects and delivers their bags to any location in Abu Dhabi within 3 hours of the flight's arrival.

Pre-purchase options

Etihad Airways' website offers a variety of pre-purchased seat options during the school holidays. The Extra Legroom seat offers ample room for guests to stretch out, while the Economy Neighbor-Free seat can be selected at least 72 hours before departure.

Eligible guests traveling on Etihad Airways-operated flights from Abu Dhabi can also purchase First and Business Class lounge access vouchers in advance up to 90 minutes before departure.

Baggage Policy

For the safety and comfort of all guests, Etihad Airways adheres to its cabin baggage policy, which stipulates a maximum baggage weight of 7 kg in Economy Class and 12 kg in First and Business Class. Carry-on baggage dimensions are set as follows: height 50 cm, depth 25 cm, and width 40 cm. The Etihad Airways app and website offer a number of additional options for guests to pre-purchase baggage at special rates.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Center

Guests traveling to the United States must arrive at the airport at least four hours before their flight departure. Guests traveling in First Class, Business Class, and The Residence are required to report to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility 90 minutes before departure, while guests in Economy Class must check in two hours prior to departure, as the facility closes one hour prior to departure. This service allows them to complete all customs procedures in Abu Dhabi before departure, allowing them to arrive in the United States as domestic passengers.
