- A company linked to Thailand's National Artificial Intelligence Initiative is suspected of smuggling billions of dollars' worth of SuperMicrocomputer servers containing advanced Nvidia chips to China, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The report stated that the Chinese Alibaba Group is among the customers receiving these products.

In March, U.S. prosecutors said in a criminal case that SuperMicrocomputer co-founder Yeh-Xian Liao directed an unnamed Southeast Asian company to purchase servers equipped with Nvidia chips, and that the company purchased $2.5 billion worth of servers in 2024 and 2025.

Bloomberg, citing sources, said the company referred to by prosecutors as "Company 1" is Bangkok-based Opon Corp.

Reuters has not yet been able to verify the report.
