Al Ahly coach Torop suffers sudden health setback
Cairo, May 18 (Reuters Sports Service) - Al Ahly, the reigning Egyptian Premier League football champions, said on Monday that their Danish coach, Jesse Torup, had suffered a health setback that required him to be taken to the hospital.
Al-Ahly added in a statement via its Facebook account that the coach is receiving the necessary medical care under the supervision of the medical staff.
Al-Ahly's doctor, Ahmed Gaballah, explained that the Danish coach's condition is reassuring, and that he is currently undergoing the necessary examinations and tests to further confirm his well-being.
Al Ahly occupies the third place in the title-winning group, with 50 points, three points behind leaders Zamalek, and one point behind second-placed Pyramids, in a fierce struggle to win the league title and secure qualification for the African Champions League.
Al Ahly will conclude their league campaign on Wednesday when they host Al Masry Al Portsaidi.
