Sharjah : The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched the new cycle of the "Sharjah Excellence Award" for 2025, which it organizes annually under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. This year's cycle witnesses the adoption of a developed global model for evaluation processes based on the fourth generation, which is based on best practices and international standards in institutional performance, innovation, and sustainability, which enhances the competitiveness of private sector companies in the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and enables them to adopt the concepts of quality, leadership, and innovation.

The launch of the new cycle of the award comes within the framework of the Sharjah Chamber’s commitment to supporting private sector establishments and contributing to achieving the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah in promoting sustainable economic development and establishing a culture of innovation and excellence. Thus, the award continues its journey of achievements during the past years, which witnessed the participation of 600 companies and institutions from the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and included 30 sectors, including the industrial and commercial sector, and the education, health, agriculture, and professional sectors. This reflects the comprehensiveness of the award and its role as a catalyst for spreading the culture of outstanding performance, effective governance, and institutional sustainability across various sectors.

The Sharjah Chamber explained that registration for the new cycle is open until January 31, 2026, inviting government institutions and entrepreneurs in the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as all private sector companies and the business communities in the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, to participate in the eight award categories: the Sharjah Gulf Localization Award, the Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award, the Sharjah Excellence Award, the Sharjah Small and Medium Enterprises Award, the Sharjah Entrepreneurs Award, the Sharjah Social Responsibility Award, the Sharjah Award for the Best Facility Compliant with Security Standards, and the Sharjah Award for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities. The award will witness, during the coming period, the organization of a series of awareness workshops targeting entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises, in addition to holding introductory seminars with the aim of highlighting the criteria of the categories and mechanisms for participation in the award, as well as organizing field visits to introduce and promote the award .

Sustainable knowledge economy

His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Excellence Award, affirmed that the award represents one of the fundamental pillars in the Chamber's strategy aimed at contributing to building a sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation, in addition to supporting the business sector and enabling private sector establishments to benefit from the values of quality, leadership and institutional excellence. He pointed out that the award witnessed participations during the 2024 cycle that exceeded 132 local and Gulf establishments, with a growth of 34% compared to the 2023 cycle. This success is an incentive for the award to continue innovation and development in the new cycle, in which a new evaluation model was adopted, based on global standards in innovation, governance and excellence, with the aim of raising the level of excellence of companies and institutions, and creating an environment capable of enhancing productivity, creativity and innovation in line with the directives of the Sharjah government, which are represented in spreading the best practices of institutional excellence.

Promoting a culture of quality

For her part, Nada Al Hajri, General Coordinator of the Sharjah Excellence Award, called on economic establishments in Sharjah, the UAE, and the GCC countries to participate in the award and benefit from its numerous developmental advantages, as it is one of the most important awards of its kind in the region. It aims to promote a culture of quality and institutional excellence in all business sector establishments within and outside the Emirate of Sharjah. She pointed out that the registration procedures for the award are easy and require applicants to visit the award's website www.shjseen.ae and fill out the registration application, specifying the participation category and adding a copy of the valid commercial license and a membership certificate from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for private sector establishments. After receiving the registration application, the award office will review the application and respond to the participant. If the registration application is approved, the participation file for the selected category will be sent to be filled out and submitted by the deadline .

It should be noted that participation in the award is open to all private sector establishments and institutions in the country in the award categories, with the exception of two categories, namely the “Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award” which is dedicated to private sector establishments in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the “Sharjah Award for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities,” where the winners will be nominated by the award’s Board of Trustees.
