- Global leaders unite to shape the future of the smart economy through artificial intelligence, data, robotics, and integrated infrastructure.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Day four of GITEX GLOBAL 2025 set a new standard for digital collaboration, as policymakers, cybersecurity leaders, and innovators convened to address the most pressing question of the age of intelligence: How do we secure a world driven by data and artificial intelligence? While cybersecurity and resilience dominated the day's discussions, the show floor remained a meeting place for the latest innovations in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data centers, robotics, and quantum computing, underscoring GITEX's breadth and unique impact.
As digital transformation accelerates, speakers called for a unified global response that places security, ethics, and trust at the heart of AI-driven progress. The 45th edition of GITEX Global continues to drive business and investment transformation until tomorrow, October 17, 2025, with more than 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, 1,200 investors, and delegates from over 180 countries convening at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Cyber Resilience: Building Trust in the Age of Intelligence
Today's program opened with a keynote address from His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, who highlighted the importance of this gathering, saying, "Nothing embodies the UAE's vision for technology and its position as a global convener like GITEX." His Excellency called on governments and institutions to prioritize capacity building in AI and risk management as national imperatives, adding, "We support proactive regulation, but it must be informed by knowledge. We need flexible policies to address the impact of AI as it evolves and manage it effectively at every step."
In a keynote speech titled "Cyber Resilience 2030: People, Politics, and Artificial Intelligence at the Heart of National Security," His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Hammadi Al Kuwaiti, Chief Cybersecurity Officer for the UAE Government, presented how the country is advancing within an integrated framework that combines governance, AI threat monitoring, and community awareness. His Excellency emphasized that: "The key message is to establish a strong cyber culture across countries and society. Our people have been, and will always be, our first line of defense." On the main stage, the Cybersecurity Council also launched the "UAE Cybersecurity Vision 2025" report. His Excellency said during the launch: "Resilience is very important to us in the UAE, and this report reflects this. The focus is on capacity building, technology exchange, partnerships, and joint innovation."
Dr. Neil Jetton, INTERPOL's Director of Cybercrime, provided insights into the global body's coordinated strategy to combat transnational cybercrime, saying: "Criminals are using artificial intelligence to increase the scope, efficiency, and effectiveness of their operations. At INTERPOL, we bring together countries and relevant representatives from the private sector to work together on the steps needed to effectively combat cybercrime."
Energy storage technology pioneer Taavi Madberg, CEO and co-founder of Skeleton Technologies, raised important questions about the economics of AI, saying, "It's very important to reduce the cost of AI. If you can get 40% more computing power for the same amount of money, you can enable new applications in cancer research, climate change, and battery technology."
Liisa-Li Pakosta, Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs of Estonia, highlighted the strategies of governments around the world to protect themselves against AI-driven threats through collaborative frameworks and strong governance, emphasizing: “Every cyberattack has ripple effects, so international cooperation between researchers, cyber specialists, companies, and governments is essential.”
Exhibitors look forward to the future of secure digital transformation.
