Indian doctor Reddy's aims to launch a generic obesity treatment at a price 60% lower.
HYDARABAD, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Dr. Reddy's Laboratories co-chairman and managing director G.V. Prasad told Reuters on Tuesday that the Indian drugmaker is seeking to launch a generic version of Novo Nordisk's weight-loss drug Wegovi at a price about 60 percent lower than the original, a move that requires approval.
Last month, the company received approval from the Indian Drug Regulatory Authority to manufacture and sell the generic version of the popular diabetes drug Ozempic, and said it is awaiting approval for the generic version of the drug Wigovy as well.
