PRESSR: Deutsche Bank appoints Waldemar Rotfus as General Manager of its Abu Dhabi branch

Deutsche Bank today announced the appointment of Mr. Waldemar Rotfus as General Manager of its branch in Abu Dhabi. Mr. Rotfus, whose appointment was approved by the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, will join the Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank in the United Arab Emirates, and will be based in Abu Dhabi.

Under his position as General Manager of the Abu Dhabi branch, Mr. Rotfus will supervise all of the bank’s activities subject to the laws of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates. He will cooperate closely with the heads of departments and business units to ensure the smooth delivery of the bank's products and services to customers, while at the same time ensuring full compliance with the laws and regulations applicable locally in the United Arab Emirates. In addition to his responsibilities as General Manager of Deutsche Bank's Abu Dhabi branch, Mr. Rotfus will continue his current responsibilities as Head of Loan Distribution and Credit Solutions for the Middle East and Africa region, which include risk reduction, bank credit hedging and market exposure in primary and secondary markets in the Corporate Banking division by working with the Investors in the Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Rotfus began his career through the Deutsche Bank training program in Germany, where he worked at the bank for over 13 years, during which he managed various roles across the trade finance, lending and cash management product range in Germany, Asia and the UK. In his previous role, he was a member of the COO team for the Trade Finance and Lending Division, where he was instrumental in the successful implementation of numerous strategic and regulatory projects and initiatives across the Trade Finance and Lending sector.
