du AI Campus in Dubai: The UAE's Sovereign AI Hub

The complex includes highly scalable, liquid-cooled data centers with a total capacity gradually increasing to 1 GW over time, enabling them to handle the most demanding AI workloads in a secure, neutral, and independent sovereign environment fully aligned with national policies. In addition to its leading infrastructure, the complex is also designed to host AI research labs, startup incubators, and an independent hybrid AI production and computing cluster, enabling developers and innovators to safely prototype, scale, and deploy AI solutions within the UAE.

Master planning for the AI Park has already begun. The AI Park is expected to develop significantly in the future, becoming a comprehensive hub and incubator for innovation in AI and digital technologies, aligned with national strategies. By integrating du's advanced telecommunications solutions with GPU-as-a-Service ( GPU-as-a-Service ) and the national hybrid AI platform, it will play a crucial role in building the national AI infrastructure. The du AI Park is scheduled to be gradually deployed over several phases spanning five years, with projects focused on enriching research and development, business incubators, and hyperscale computing.

On this occasion, Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, said : “du’s vision is focused on providing a sovereign, secure, and future-proof AI platform for the UAE. Through the AI Cluster, du is not only providing a world-class digital infrastructure, but is also laying a solid foundation for a thriving AI innovation ecosystem, further cementing its leadership role in promoting economic and technological diversification and prosperity in the UAE.”

The du AI cluster relies on a network of local and global cables that provide international maritime and terrestrial links, as well as global submarine cables, allowing it to operate as an integrated digital hub and gateway. The cluster also adheres to national policies for AI data and security, ensuring auditing, transparency, and governance while handling massive workloads. By combining sovereign control of AI and data levels, sustainability principles through liquid cooling, data center scalability, and a talent and startup ecosystem, du is contributing to shaping an AI-led economy and setting new global standards for reliable technology infrastructure .

National Hybrid AI: Making AI a Part of Everyday Life

In addition to the du AI Cluster, du Tech launched the National Hybrid AI Platform, the first of its kind that can extend the capabilities of du's National Hypercloud . The platform provides an integrated suite of services that enables government entities and enterprises to develop AI applications on the cloud of their choice and then deploy them on du Tech 's sovereign infrastructure.

The platform combines a secure, sovereign AI production environment with a superior national cloud, advanced 5G and fiber optic networks, partnerships with software development companies, and a robust ecosystem of system integrators. This unified AI environment enables enterprises to securely deploy, manage, and scale applications without the need for significant upfront investments, enabling them to drive innovation and accelerate digital transformation .

The Future of Sovereign Artificial Intelligence in the UAE

The AI Park and the National AI Platform provide a sovereign, secure, and future-proof AI ecosystem designed to support the UAE's ambition to become a global leader in AI. This integrated infrastructure addresses the critical challenge facing government and business leaders in deploying AI applications at scale by providing a sovereign and cost-effective solution. It also enables organizations to achieve their AI digital transformation goals and transition from development to production more efficiently.

The two initiatives also align with national policies for AI data and security, ensuring auditability, transparency, and governance for critical workloads. By combining sovereign control, sustainable data center designs, scalable computing infrastructure, and innovation platforms for talent and startups, du is setting new global standards for trusted AI technologies .
