Rosneft CEO: US oil and gas companies could see additional profits exceeding $60 billion this year, according to Rystad Energy

- Igor Sechin, head of Rosneft, Russia's biggest oil producer, said on Saturday that closing the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for global oil and natural gas exports, is an attempt to change the rules of the global energy market in favor of the United States.

In a speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sechin, a longtime ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that the OPEC+ alliance of major oil producers had lost some of its potential with the UAE's withdrawal.
