Zawya - Press Releases: ACWA Power Announces Innovation Days Forum 2026 to Accelerate Transformative Technologies and Partnerships

The event brings together several entities and aims to align the latest technologies with Vision 2030, in line with plans to localize innovation.
"Innovation Days 2026" showcases ACWA Power's growing portfolio of innovation applications, pilot projects, and comprehensive industrial applications.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: ACWA Power, the world’s largest privately owned desalination company, a leader in energy transformation and a pioneer in green hydrogen, today announced the organization of the fourth edition of the “Innovation Days” forum during the period from January 26 to 28, 2026 at “The Garage” (Riyadh) under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This year’s forum is being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, King Abdullah City for Science and Technology (KASC), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), and “The Garage,” bringing together senior government officials, industry leaders, innovators, researchers, and academics from Saudi Arabia and around the world. The three-day forum program is designed to be a leading innovation platform to accelerate the deployment of next-generation energy, water, and digital technologies, stimulate impactful partnerships, and support the Kingdom’s ambition to become one of the top 10 countries in the Global Innovation Index.

Marco Arcelli, CEO of ACWA Power, stated: “The Innovation Days forum has rapidly evolved into an influential platform that brings together real technologies, real partners, and real projects. It is not a theoretical forum, but rather a space where we test ideas practically, scale up pioneering solutions, and connect innovators with the integrated industrial and policy ecosystem necessary to move from pilot projects to viability, deployment, and scaling up solutions. For us at ACWA Power, innovation is not a separate function; it is the way we design, drive investments, and operate assets that deliver competitively priced and lower-emission energy and water to our partners in all the markets where we operate.”

Under the theme "Innovation for Impact," this year's edition focuses on solutions-based innovation that translates directly into measurable economic, environmental, and regulatory benefits. The forum's program highlights applied research and development results, detailed demonstrations, and technologies developed through collaboration in the fields of renewable energy, green hydrogen, advanced desalination, energy storage, systems integration, and digital optimization.

The forum program includes valuable keynote speeches, in-depth technical panel discussions, and live technology demonstrations, in addition to dedicated networking sessions for various stakeholder groups. Specific tracks will address strategic challenges such as accelerating the competitiveness of green hydrogen, enhancing the competitiveness and impact of water desalination, scaling up energy storage, and leveraging artificial intelligence and digital solutions to improve complex energy and water systems. Participants will also explore new models for localizing technologies, developing shared intellectual property, and enhancing industrial supply chains in the Kingdom.

The Innovation Days Forum brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including universities and research institutes that contribute research capabilities and talent in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. These entities, in turn, contribute to developing applied use cases and shared intellectual property aligned with national priorities. Relevant government entities provide policy guidance to support Vision 2030 and enhance institutional legitimacy and transparency, while funding and investment entities offer capital and innovation programs, creating targeted implementation opportunities and fruitful partnerships.
