Zawya - Press Releases: ACWA Power unveils its new brand identity, placing people and society at the heart of the energy sector transformation.
The new identity values – innovation, integrity, and impact – underscore the company's commitment to creating added value and driving progress for the benefit of humanity and the planet.
The brand's evolution highlights the company's role in providing energy and water at competitive, sustainable, safe, and fast prices in 15 countries.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: ACWA Power, the world’s largest privately owned desalination company, a leader in the energy transition, and a pioneer in green hydrogen, today unveiled its new brand identity, reflecting its pivotal transformation from a regional Saudi company to a global leader driving progress for people and the planet. The new identity reflects the company’s evolution from a Saudi initiative to a multinational corporation managing US$115 billion in assets, with 111 assets across 15 countries, and providing reliable power to more than 75 million people and clean water to 34 million people daily.
Based on four energy pillars—competitive cost, sustainability, security, and speed—the new brand reflects ACWA’s vision for its operations in the coming years through long-term partnerships, impactful innovations, and a clear focus on the communities that depend on its projects. This identity also aligns with the company’s ambition to double its assets under management once again, after doubling them in the past three years, to reach US$250 billion by 2030. This will be achieved by accelerating investments in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and water desalination, supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the carbon neutrality goals of its partner countries.
Mohammed Abunayyan, Chairman of ACWA Power, stated : “From day one, ACWA Power has written a Saudi success story built on partnership, ambition, and responsibility, and our new identity honors this legacy while looking steadily towards the future. As our presence expands from the Middle East to Africa, Asia, and the rest of the world, this brand reflects our identity today as a values-based company that measures success not only in megawatts and cubic meters, but also in the jobs that are generated, the opportunities that will become available, and the resilience that we enhance in every community in which we operate.”
“Our company has undergone a radical transformation in terms of size and scope,” said Marco Arcelli, CEO of ACWA Power. “Today we provide 93 gigawatts of power and 9.3 million cubic meters of desalinated water per day across several continents, while our green ammonia activities are growing to more than 1.2 million tons per year by the end of the year. The new brand is meant to highlight this transformation and to demonstrate our commitment. Everything we do starts with people, whether it’s designing projects, making investments, or operating assets that ensure competitively priced energy, reliable water supply, and climate goals in the communities and countries we serve.”
Dr. Rasha Al-Rawaf, Chief Corporate and Sustainability Officer at ACWA, who oversaw the rebranding process, explained: “We built this identity from within, by listening to colleagues in our factories, young people in our training programs, and our partners from government and the private sector in the communities where our projects are located. The result was a brand that combines our three core values – innovation, integrity, and impact – with a simple humanistic idea that infrastructure is only valuable when it improves people’s lives, protects the environment, and gives future generations more choices than the previous generation.”
Under the motto "Creating value and driving progress for people and planet," the new brand embodies ACWA's business strategy and its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments. The company's values now guide its collaborations with governments, regulators, investors, and communities, from large-scale green hydrogen projects in Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, wind power plants in Azerbaijan and Egypt, to cutting-edge renewable energy and energy storage projects in South Africa and Morocco, and highly efficient desalination plants in the GCC countries.
ACWA integrates innovation and sustainability into the design and execution of all its projects, from world-leading solar power plants to state-of-the-art green hydrogen facilities and next-generation desalination technologies that reduce emissions and costs. The new brand identity highlights this track record of innovation, with a focus on social impact through youth training initiatives such as the Energy and Water Academy in Saudi Arabia and local energy colleges in Uzbekistan, as well as targeted community investments in education, agriculture, and entrepreneurship in other key markets.
The brand development also reflects ACWA’s partnership-based business model, grounded in the principles of “develop, invest, operate, and improve,” where every dollar the company invests yields a $10 project, and where technology choices, project structures, and investments align with national development priorities. As the company strives to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 50% by 2030 compared to 2020, the new identity will serve as a unified platform for employees, partners, and stakeholders across all 15 countries in which it operates.
