Muscat: In continuation of its ongoing efforts to promote innovation and digital transformation, the National Bank of Oman announced the provision of vehicle insurance services through its banking application. This service allows customers to apply for, renew, and manage insurance policies easily without the need to visit branches .
Regarding the launch of this service, Dr. Ali bin Salem Al Shukaili, Assistant General Manager and Head of Digital Services and Channels at the National Bank of Oman, said :
“ At the National Bank of Oman, we believe that digital transformation is not limited to launching a range of digital services through the app or our other official channels, but includes making a tangible difference and a fundamental shift in supporting the banking sector. By adding essential services such as vehicle insurance to our app, we aim to achieve customer satisfaction by responding to their needs and supporting digital transformation, without the need to visit branches and submit paper documents.”
The application also provides the ability to obtain insurance prices, carry out insurance-related transactions securely and instantly, as well as upload documents directly and receive alerts via notifications and text messages to remind customers of renewal dates and the expiry of insurance and documents.
Customers can choose between comprehensive or third-party liability insurance, each offering benefits tailored to different needs. Comprehensive insurance covers damage to the third party's vehicle and the insured vehicle, medical expenses, coverage within the UAE, roadside assistance, and other benefits . Third-party liability insurance covers damage to the third party's vehicle and medical expenses, in addition to coverage within the UAE and roadside assistance. It's worth noting that vehicles older than ten years are only eligible for third-party liability insurance .
