Jeddah: Saudi Airlines launched its operational activities for the Hajj season of 1447 and received flight number SV5807 coming from the city of Dhaka, the capital of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, with 376 guests on board. Among those who received the flight were His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, His Excellency the Director General of the Saudi Group, Engineer Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, and a number of officials in various sectors concerned with serving the pilgrims, in embodiment of the generous directives of the wise leadership, may God protect them, to provide everything that would serve the guests of God and facilitate their procedures .
Saudi Arabia’s operational plan for the Hajj season of 1447 extends to 75 days during the arrival and return phases, through which it aims to transport pilgrims from all over the world so that they can perform the rituals, while providing a package of integrated services that contribute to enriching the travel experience through cooperation and integrated performance with various entities related to serving pilgrims .
Saudia has allocated more than one million seats on its domestic and international flight network, utilizing its fleet of 160 aircraft during the Hajj season, with destinations reaching 145. It has mobilized its technical capabilities to provide services in the best possible way, and these are implemented by a specialized team that includes all operational sectors working around the clock .
The Director General of the Saudi Group, Engineer Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, pointed out that “Saudia” is working in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Guests of God Service Program to align all initiatives with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 related to serving the guests of God, especially those related to contributing to the transportation of 30 million pilgrims and Umrah performers by 2030, noting “Saudia’s” accumulated experience in transporting the guests of God and managing peak seasons with full competence, as it combines providing the best services in various service locations with maintaining operational efficiency standards, including the punctuality of flights, which contributes to the smooth flow of traffic at airports .
Saudia’s services for pilgrims include issuing boarding passes for arrival and return flights from international origin stations as well as domestic stations, in addition to providing additional flights for pilgrims wishing to travel to Madinah by air. 179,204 pilgrims will be served through the Makkah Route Initiative, and the “Hajj without Luggage” initiative will continue to be provided by handling 330,000 bags in addition to 230,000 Zamzam water containers .
Saudia provides air services that contribute to enhancing the travel experience and preparing pilgrims to perform the rituals by notifying them half an hour before flying over the Miqat site and broadcasting the Talbiyah, in addition to in-flight entertainment content that includes a diverse range of educational programs related to Hajj and Umrah rituals via the dedicated channel. In addition, there are hospitality services and meals that suit different tastes.
