Cairo, Egypt: Telecom Egypt ( WE ), in cooperation with Huawei, announced the launch of its Fiber -to-the-Room service, a move that represents a qualitative leap that guarantees customers a high-speed internet connection experience and enhances wireless network coverage in every floor and room of the house.

Huawei’s FTTR technology represents a new generation of indoor fiber optic network solutions, specifically designed to address internet coverage challenges such as weak signal, uncovered areas, and inconsistent or slow speeds due to the density of connected devices in large, multi-room homes. This technology is designed to meet the demands and needs of customers. Furthermore, fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) is an ideal solution for smart homes, gamers, and other technology-dependent users who require high-speed internet connectivity with minimal latency for optimal performance .

The technology provides a future-proof infrastructure capable of meeting the requirements of the next generation of entertainment and work, in light of the rapid development of reliance on digital services and smart home applications. It fully supports fast cloud video games, remote work and learning, and streaming ultra-high-definition visual content with clarity up to 4K and 8K . The service is characterized by its high ability to accommodate a large number of connected devices at the same time without any decline in the levels of reliability and operational performance efficiency of the network .
