Alizz Islamic Bank launched the activities of the “First Forum for Sharia Supervision in Islamic Banks,” which will be held from June 28 to 30, 2026, under the umbrella of “Manar Alizz,” the bank’s knowledge and awareness initiative on Islamic banking, as part of its ongoing efforts to spread awareness of Islamic banking and promote a specialized understanding of its principles and Sharia foundations .The forum brings together a select group of esteemed scholars, members of Sharia supervisory boards, experts and specialists in the Islamic banking and finance sector, with the aim of highlighting the pivotal role of Sharia supervision in enhancing the reliability and sustainability of the Islamic financial industry, and exchanging experiences and knowledge about the most prominent developments and challenges facing the sector .
The organization of this forum comes in line with Alizz Islamic Bank’s vision to consolidate its position as a leading Islamic financial institution that contributes to the development of specialized knowledge in Islamic banking, and to provide dialogue platforms that bring together practitioners, academics and those interested in Sharia and financial matters, thereby enhancing community awareness of the principles upon which the Islamic banking industry is based .
The forum's program includes a series of specialized workshops and scientific sessions addressing several important topics, including: investing Zakat funds and civil society organizations; the principles of Takaful insurance and its impact on strengthening Islamic finance guarantees; principles of operation in the Islamic finance sector; and the concepts of Sharia auditing and the risks of non-compliance. The forum will also feature an extensive panel discussion on the architecture of Islamic finance contracts, with the participation of leading members of Sharia supervisory boards .
