United Arab Emirates, Dubai: In a new achievement that reinforces its leadership on the global stage, Dubai Customs continued its journey of excellence in service innovation by obtaining three prestigious international accreditations from the Global Innovation Institute in the United States of America, confirming once again its ability to develop an advanced customs work system based on innovation, proactivity and enhancing added value.
The three accreditations included high-quality projects representing a qualitative leap in service development: the automation of vehicle clearance certificate issuance, the giant X-ray machine, and the attestation service with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Two of the projects were classified at Level 2, which focuses on developing services to increase competitiveness, while the third project received Level 3, the highest classification at the institute, due to its strategic value in expanding the scope of services and enhancing their future sustainability.
This recognition underscores Dubai Customs' leading position regionally and internationally as a pioneer in redefining government efficiency in the digital age. This achievement aligns with the government's clear focus on accelerating the adoption of integrated digital models, enabling the department to develop an advanced operational system that enhances customer experience and elevates performance standards to more competitive and sustainable levels.
In this context, His Excellency Ateeq Al Muhairi, Executive Director of Customs Development at Dubai Customs, stated that this global achievement reflects the department's ability to translate its strategic vision into tangible results by adopting advanced digital solutions that have contributed to increased operational efficiency, faster processing times, and smoother trade flow. The approved projects also represent a leading model for leveraging technology to support the business environment and solidify Dubai's position as a pivotal global hub in international supply chains and trade.
His Excellency explained that Dubai Customs is constantly working to develop an integrated system of digital services that keep pace with global changes and support the competitiveness of the national economy, noting that investment in innovation and the development of institutional capabilities is a fundamental pillar for achieving global leadership and enhancing Dubai’s position as a leading trade and logistics center.
For his part, Dr. Hossam Juma, Director of Service Innovation at Dubai Customs, affirmed that this achievement represents a significant addition to the department's record and reflects renewed international confidence in its ability to develop its services according to the highest standards. He pointed out that Dubai Customs is steadily progressing towards strengthening its global presence by investing in talent and creating a work environment that fosters creativity and supports the adoption of innovative solutions.
He added that Dubai Customs continues to implement ambitious development initiatives based on adopting the latest technologies and automating customs procedures, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency of operations and raising the level of customer satisfaction, in addition to supporting the directions of the Dubai government in providing proactive and innovative services that meet future aspirations .
It is worth noting that Dubai Customs had achieved a remarkable accomplishment by obtaining the Certified Government Institution Certificate of Excellence level from the same institute for the year 2023, making it the first government entity in the Emirate of Dubai and the first customs entity in the world to obtain this high global classification, in a clear confirmation of its leadership in providing innovative government services based on the best global practices.
This new achievement reinforces Dubai Customs’ record of successes and confirms its ongoing efforts to develop the customs work system according to the highest international standards, which contributes to supporting the economic development process and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global center for trade and advanced logistics services.
