Dubai, UAE – Dell Technologies ( NYSE: DELL ) announced the launch of Dell Deskside Agentic AI , a new addition to its Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA ecosystem. This enables teams to deploy and scale agent AI workflows on-premises, without the cost, latency, or data dominance limitations of fully cloud-based models. NVIDIA OpenShell , the operating environment for intelligent agents, is now supported across the entire Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA ecosystem, providing organizations with a unified layer of security and policy enforcement that extends from desktop workstations to Dell PowerEdge XE servers.
As AI workloads migrate to proxy infrastructures, token consumption is increasing at an accelerating rate, potentially driving up cloud computing costs to unsustainable levels despite falling token prices. Furthermore, fully cloud-based strategies fail to provide the necessary scalability, security, and data sovereignty that organizations require when scaling up. Therefore, organizations adopting proxy AI need an infrastructure capable of meeting all three requirements simultaneously, with the ability to scale with workloads without having to rebuild the infrastructure at every stage of development.
Therefore, the AI Factory, in collaboration with NVIDIA, provides a turnkey path for enterprises, from the desktop where decisions are made to the data center where scaling takes place. For various agent AI workloads, enterprises can break even compared to the costs of public cloud APIs in as little as three months when using Dell Deskside Agentic AI .
Desktop systems also enable on-premises inference processes, maintaining predictable costs and ensuring data remains within the enterprise environment, thus giving companies greater control over their AI environment. NVIDIA OpenShell provides developers and IT teams with a secure and isolated operating environment to build, deploy, and manage intelligent agents across the entire NVIDIA AI factory ecosystem, from workstations to servers. This gives teams greater flexibility in development and experimentation, while reducing exposure to the unforeseen costs associated with cloud inference, bandwidth costs, and intellectual property risks.
A complete AI-powered, desktop-ready agent solution for production
Dell Deskside Agentic AI is built on the reality that over 50% of agent AI workflows rely on open-weighted models. The 30 billion to 284 billion domain parameter range represents the domain parameter within which these models perform the fundamental inferences that drive efficient operations. Whether it's programming assistants, search agents, or highly specialized intelligent assistants for regulated sectors, the solution offers a variety of high-performance Dell workstations, each designed to meet different workload and budget requirements. These workstations integrate with the NVIDIA NemoClaw reference architecture and Dell services to handle heavy AI workloads in the most cost-effective locations. With Dell Deskside Agentic AI , organizations can reduce spending by up to 87% compared to cloud APIs over two years.
- Dell Pro Max with GB10 : A compact, energy-efficient system designed for developing small-scale smart agent prototypes, supporting models ranging from 30 billion to 200 billion parameters.
- Dell Pro Precision 9 : Enterprise desktop workstations with Intel Xeon 600 processors, supporting up to five NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell Workstation Edition GPUs, providing scalable performance for GPU-intensive workloads, with support for models ranging from 30 billion to 500 billion parameters.
- Dell Pro Max with GB300 : A platform powered by an NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip and Dell's exclusive MaxCool technology for maximum efficiency, specifically designed to perform inferences for advanced models ranging in size from 120 billion to 1 trillion parameters.
- The NVIDIA NemoClaw Reference Architecture : An open-source foundation for securely managing persistent intelligent agents, built on the OpenClaw platform, an agent framework that supports autonomous, multi-step workflows on local machines. This architecture combines NVIDIA Nemotron's open, high-performance inference and programming models with the secure OpenShell runtime environment, all within the NVIDIA Agent Toolkit for building and orchestrating persistent agents.
- Dell Services : Integrated support across the entire AI agent lifecycle, from initial strategy and device deployment to workflow alignment, agent prioritization, and continuous improvement, accelerating the transition to production environments and helping to bridge internal AI skills gaps.
A reliable framework for all workloads
Deploying AI proxy applications in production environments requires a unified framework that protects sensitive data, integrates with existing processes, and covers all infrastructure components. NVIDIA OpenShell , now supported across the entire AI Factory ecosystem in collaboration with NVIDIA , provides an isolated runtime environment for building, deploying, and managing AI proxies with advanced privacy and security controls. Its support extends from high-performance Dell workstations to Dell PowerEdge XE servers within Canonical Ubuntu and Red Hat AI in the AI Factory in collaboration with NVIDIA . Developing and deploying proxies close to the data enhances governance, security, and operational control.
The NVIDIA AI-Q 2.0 enterprise reference architecture also provides a proven foundation for deploying multi-agent workflows that handle research, decision support, and complex tasks, accelerating the transition from pilot projects to production environments. These capabilities are now available within the Dell-NVIDIA AI-Q 2.0 reference architecture, powered by the Dell AI Data Platform , and specifically designed to meet the demands of intensive local workloads in regulated sectors, including financial services, government, and manufacturing.
Commenting on these solutions, Jeff Clark, Chief Operating Officer at Dell Technologies, said: " The most efficient code is produced close to the data, and most enterprise data is not in the cloud. Dell Deskside Agentic AI provides each team with a secure, local environment to run intelligent agents, while keeping costs predictable and protecting intellectual property within the enterprise. What works at the office level can be scaled to the data center. This represents the deployment model for the next stage."
Justin Boitano, Vice President of AI Platforms at NVIDIA , said : “ As organizations reshape and expand the future of work with proxy AI, they are looking for an infrastructure that spans the entire enterprise — from the offices where work is done to the AI factories where intelligent capabilities are scaled. With NVIDIA OpenShell within the AI factory in collaboration with NVIDIA , organizations can develop locally, scale securely, and deploy proxy AI applications on a unified and consistent platform.”
Ryan Schroth, president of Signal65 , said : “ As organizations move from AI testing to full-scale deployment, a secure, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure is no longer an option, but a necessity. Dell Deskside Agentic AI , as part of Dell’s AI Factory, bridges the gap between local control and enterprise-level scalability, while providing the flexibility to continue evolving and improving. This desktop-to-data center capability is a unique advantage that allows organizations to fully leverage the potential of agent AI while maintaining data sovereignty and predictable costs.”
