Cairo – Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development, in collaboration with the Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation – a charitable medical organization – announces the renewal of their strategic partnership for the sixth consecutive year. This partnership builds upon the success of the "Healthy Children" initiative, reflecting both foundations' unwavering commitment to supporting children's right to comprehensive and sustainable healthcare. The initiative aims to provide high-quality medical services to children in social care institutions across Egypt .
The signing of the protocol for the new phase (2026-2027) represents a natural progression and a culmination of the project's tangible success over the past years. This phase ensures the sustainability and development of medical services. It includes strategic collaboration to establish and operate three specialized clinics as medical centers within care homes in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, and Beheira. These clinics aim to provide comprehensive healthcare to 7,200 children. The initiative encompasses a full range of medical specialties, including pediatrics, orthopedics, dermatology, nutrition, ENT, and ophthalmology, while continuing to provide all necessary medications and treatments free of charge. The protocol also focuses on raising the standards of medical service quality and intensifying programs to correct misconceptions about health and nutrition, ensuring the healthy and sustainable physical and psychological development of the children .
The initiative was launched in 2020 through mobile medical clinics to provide care to orphanages throughout Egypt, and the initiative succeeded in reaching 588 social care homes distributed across 26 governorates. Thanks to this cooperation, medical services were provided to 25,000 deserving children, through the operation of 202 general medical convoys and 6 specialized dental convoys, in addition to allocating 120 days of work in fixed clinics to ensure continuity of health follow-up .
As Mr. Jean-Pierre Trinel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development , stated, “Our partnership with the Ibrahim Badran Foundation is an investment in Egypt’s true future. We believe that providing decent and comprehensive healthcare for children is not only an inherent human right, but also the cornerstone of raising a healthy and productive generation. These children are an integral part of the comprehensive development process the country is witnessing, and our support for them today ensures the building of a physically and psychologically sound human resource base for tomorrow. Through the ‘Healthy Children’ initiative, we seek to provide a sustainable model of healthcare that goes beyond immediate support to achieve a radical change in the quality of life of children in care homes, in line with the Foundation’s vision of creating a long-term positive impact on Egyptian society.”
Dr. Ola Ismail, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and CEO of the Ibrahim Badran Foundation, stated : “Renewing our partnership with Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development for the sixth year is a true embodiment of the concept of sustainability in charitable work. We do not merely provide a fleeting medical check-up, but rather build an integrated system that monitors the child’s physical health from the very first moment. We are proud of our achievements in reaching thousands of children in 26 governorates, encompassing all children’s care homes throughout the Arab Republic of Egypt. We also place great importance on health awareness for children and their caregivers, aiming to reduce disease rates and correct nutritional misconceptions. In the next phase, we look forward to enhancing the use of technology in healthcare and expanding our impact to ensure a healthier future for our children.”
In addition to providing treatment, the initiative has focused in recent years on strengthening preventative and awareness-raising aspects, including programs on healthy nutrition, personal hygiene, and early diagnosis of malnutrition and hearing impairment. Its impact has also extended to improving the living environment for children in care homes by providing health solutions such as water filters and sanitation campaigns, making the "Healthy Children" initiative a model to be emulated in comprehensive development aimed at building the character of Egyptians from a young age .
