Zawya - Press Releases: Cherry Bahrain supports local sporting talent as the main sponsor of the badminton championship

Manama, Bahrain – Chery Bahrain, a subsidiary of Bahrain Asian Motor Company W.L.L. of Motorcity, proudly participated as the main sponsor of the CHERY-BBSF-POWERJADE Junior Ranking Circuit 2 and the Eid Open Championship, which took place from May 29 to 31 at Al Nasr Club in Juffair. The tournament was organized by the Powerjade Academy in cooperation with the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation, and brought together elite junior and experienced badminton players from across the Kingdom.

The Junior Ranking Championship featured singles and doubles competitions for boys and girls across age categories ranging from under 9 to under 19. The event also included the Eid Open Championship, which showcased intermediate-level competitions for adults in men's doubles, women's doubles (including the 40+ age group), and veterans' doubles.

The tournament featured 279 players across various categories, reflecting the continued growth of badminton in the Kingdom. It concluded with the crowning of 48 winners and 48 runners-up in both the men's and women's categories, underscoring the high level of competition witnessed throughout the tournament.

Mr. Chanel Abdul Rahim, the tournament referee representing the Asian Badminton Confederation and the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation, said: "The CHERY-BBSF-POWERJADE Junior Ranking Circuit 2 tournament has set a new and distinctive standard for youth sports in the Kingdom."

Mr. Jenish , the tournament director, representing POWERJADE , added: "We are proud of our partnership with CHERY to provide a professional opportunity that allows players to test their skills at the highest levels, and we look forward to raising the level of badminton even further in future tournaments."
