Ajman Chamber organized a forum entitled “Sustainability in the Industrial Sector” to announce the launch of the first phase of the Eco Smart Industry initiative, and to highlight best practices and experiences in rationalizing consumption, preserving resources and recycling, to confirm the Chamber’s responsibility in pushing the industrial sector towards a sustainable and balanced future that keeps pace with environmental and economic developments and production growth.

The forum was attended by Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of Member Support Services, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Affairs, Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication at the Ajman Chamber, and owners and officials of more than 20 factories operating in the emirate, at the Fairmont Ajman Hotel.

Maryam Al Nuaimi, the initiative's coordinator and head of the Marketing and Corporate Communication Department at the Ajman Chamber, provided a comprehensive explanation of how factories can participate in the Eco Smart Industry initiative, outlining the steps for registration and joining the first phase, the environmental readiness assessment criteria, and the daily interaction provided by the initiative to measure capabilities related to sustainability, energy conservation, and resource preservation.

She added that the initiative constitutes an interactive platform to showcase best practices in the field of industrial sustainability, monitor constructive proposals and exchange experiences among participating establishments, which contributes to developing innovative and applicable solutions and promoting a culture of continuous improvement towards more efficient and sustainable performance.

The forum witnessed the official launch of the Eco Smart Industry initiative, and the start of registration and participation of factories in the first phase, reflecting the positive interaction from the industrial sector and its readiness to implement more efficient and sustainable production practices.

The owners and managers of the factories participating in the forum presented a range of successful experiences and practices in the areas of energy efficiency, resource management and emissions reduction. The forum reviewed success stories of adopting sustainable solutions that contributed to improving operational performance and reducing costs.
