Zawya - Press Releases: Kaspersky joins the Digital Cooperation Organization as an observer
As part of its contribution to global efforts to create a more sustainable digital environment, Kaspersky has joined the Digital Cooperation Organization ( DCO ) as an observer member. As the first cybersecurity company to join the organization, Kaspersky will share its extensive experience in addressing complex cyber threats and support the DCO and its members in their efforts to build a more resilient and inclusive digital economy.
The Digital Cooperation Organization was established in 2020 as the world's first independent international organization dedicated to the digital economy. It comprises 16 member states and a broad network of observers and partners representing leading global organizations, striving to harness the potential of digital technologies for social prosperity and economic growth .
The partnership with Kaspersky was announced during the fifth General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), held in Kuwait on February 4 and 5. By joining the organization, Kaspersky will support the DCO with its extensive technical expertise in cybersecurity and capacity building, helping it develop more secure digital ecosystems and promote equitable access to technology. Drawing on its 30 years of experience protecting consumers and organizations globally from all types of cyber threats, Kaspersky will provide DCO members with the knowledge needed to address the various cyber threats that hinder digital development and enhance digital resilience.
The organization's key areas of focus, such as digital economy growth, prosperity, innovation, and the empowerment of women and youth, align with Kaspersky's mission to build a safer and more sustainable digital world where people can harness the power of technology. Through this collaboration, Kaspersky and the Digital Cooperation Organization will work to enhance cybersecurity capabilities, develop platforms for knowledge and experience sharing, and launch impactful initiatives to raise cybersecurity awareness among a wider audience and improve their IT skills.
Commenting on this, Yulia Shlichkova, Vice President of Global Public Affairs at Kaspersky, said: “Kaspersky has always considered international cooperation an enabler of digital resilience and prosperity. Our partnership with the Digital Cooperation Organisation embodies our commitment to fostering the sustainable development of the digital space through collaborative collective action. As an observer member, Kaspersky will continue to fulfill its mission of creating a safer digital world, where everyone – countries, businesses, and individuals – has the freedom to use digital technologies and benefit from their advantages to improve their quality of life.”
Empowering a new generation of secure digital users has always been a top long-term priority for Kaspersky. Therefore, Kaspersky provides specialized training to enhance the skills and capabilities of global organizations in combating cybercrime, and promotes cybersecurity knowledge through the Kaspersky Academy and dedicated talent development platforms such as Kaspersky CTF .
