  • This new step comes as part of Manulife's growing commitment to the region, including the opening of its new office in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
  • The new integrated solution is based on Manulife's global expertise in serving high-net-worth individuals in Bermuda, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai.

Dubai, UAE - Manulife today announced the launch of Manulife Maseera Indexed Takaful, an integrated wealth protection and legacy planning solution developed in response to the growing and increasingly complex needs of wealthy families and business owners in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region.

With the growing international presence of wealthy families, high-net-worth individuals are placing increasing importance on protecting their assets, ensuring business continuity, and planning for efficient intergenerational wealth transfer. The growth of cross-border assets, the evolution of family structures, and the increasing need for legacy planning and intergenerational wealth transfer are all contributing to the demand for integrated solutions that combine protection, wealth growth, and legacy planning within a single framework .

Building on Manulife’s Global High-Net-Worth platform, Manulife MMIT Takaful was developed to meet the evolving needs of affluent families seeking a more integrated approach to wealth management and planning. Developed over two years with the participation of global experts and Sharia specialists, the solution leverages Manulife’s global financial standing and established governance frameworks. It is designed to support long-term wealth preservation, promote the sustainability of family legacies, and facilitate the transfer of wealth between generations .

It is worth noting that Manulife has been supporting high-net-worth individuals in the region since 2012, and has strengthened its regional presence by opening its office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in 2025. This move underscores its long-term commitment to the UAE and solidifies its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing wealth hubs . The DIFC office plays a strategic role by connecting Manulife’s global platform serving high-net-worth individuals across Bermuda, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE, enhancing the company’s ability to serve families with an international presence and respond to the evolving needs of wealth planning across the region .

In this context, Bonnie Keogh, CEO of Manulife, a global platform serving wealthy individuals, said: “We are witnessing a growing demand for Sharia-compliant wealth planning solutions across the region, as wealthy families increasingly focus on planning for the transfer of wealth, the sustainability of family legacies, and the preservation of wealth for the long term.”

She added: “Although the region has a strong and sophisticated market for takaful solutions, there is still a need for more sophisticated solutions that meet the growing needs of high-net-worth families in the areas of protection, liquidity and legacy planning. The Manulife Masira Takaful ( MMIT ) solution was developed in response to these changing needs, through an integrated and Sharia-compliant framework that combines protection, wealth growth and access to liquidity and legacy planning.”

Manulife’s MMIT Takaful Message includes a suite of features designed to support long-term wealth planning, including access to liquidity, access to growth opportunities associated with the S&P 500 Shariah-compliant index, and the option to name beneficiaries of the gift to facilitate asset transfers in accordance with Shariah principles. The solution is subject to independent Shariah oversight, reflecting Manulife’s commitment to developing advanced wealth transfer planning solutions that meet the needs of high-net-worth families .
