Cairo - Toyota Egypt Group has written an exceptional chapter in its history spanning more than 45 years, as it officially announced its entry into the world of electric cars in the Egyptian market for the first time in its history, with the launch of the two electric cars, the Toyota bZ4X under the prestigious Toyota brand, and the Lexus RZ under the luxury Lexus umbrella.

With this step, Toyota Egypt Group affirms its role as a partner in the state’s vision for green transformation, and supports the national trend to reduce emissions by promoting the future of electric vehicles in Egypt.

Power and battery system: 100% Japanese reliability and integrated charging solutions

Both the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ rely on the global e-TNGA platform, with an advanced battery system that provides ultimate convenience and smart charging solutions.

Toyota bZ4X : The embodiment of the " Beyond Zero " vision

The Toyota bZ4X presents Toyota’s future vision that goes beyond simply offering zero-emission vehicles, to include providing a complete ownership experience that combines driving pleasure with outstanding performance and reliability that reflects Toyota’s long-standing philosophy.

The bZ4X is available in two variants: the bZ4X Sport FWD (front-wheel drive) and the bZ4X Premier AWD (all-wheel drive). Both vehicles come equipped with a 73 kWh battery, the result of a collaboration between Toyota and Panasonic in Japan, built to the highest quality standards.

The model supports DC fast charging in 30 minutes, while charging from 20% to 80% takes approximately four and a half hours. The car boasts an exceptional driving range of up to 567 km according to the WLTP standard, and real-world testing has proven its ability to achieve a range very close to the advertised figures, giving customers the freedom to move around within cities and travel between provinces.

The Sport FWD version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds with an engine that produces 224 hp and 268.6 Nm of torque. The Premier AWD version accelerates in just 5.1 seconds, with a total output of 343 hp (a front engine producing 268.6 Nm of torque and a rear engine producing 169.8 Nm of torque).

The X-MODE system also enhances the vehicle's off-road capabilities through the Multi-Terrain Select and GRIP Control Mode systems, leveraging Toyota's expertise in the world of Off-Roading , which has garnered global acclaim as one of the most stable and high-performing four-wheel-drive electric vehicles.

The car is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes advanced driver assistance and braking systems to enhance confidence. The Sport trim comes with 18-inch wheels, while the Premier trim features 20-inch wheels for a more modern look.

Toyota guarantees that battery efficiency will be maintained at no less than 70% even after 10 years of use, reflecting confidence in the quality of Japanese technology and giving customers real value that sets it apart from competitors.

LEXUS RZ : The pinnacle of luxury and interactive performance

The Lexus RZ comes in two trims; the Executive e 350 (front-wheel drive) which combines luxury with efficiency, and the F Sport e 550 (four-wheel drive) which features a sporty design and dynamic performance that maintains the comfort levels that Lexus is known for.

It features a 77 kWh Japanese battery, ideal for luxury vehicles. The all-wheel-drive version offers a range of up to 450 km, while the front-wheel-drive version boasts a range of 508 km ( WLTP ). The car supports AC charging up to 22 kW, reducing home charging time to approximately 3 hours, and DC fast charging takes around 30 minutes.

The RZ 550e F Sport is the most powerful, boasting 408 hp and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The Executive trim, on the other hand, offers 224 hp and accelerates in 7.5 seconds, providing a balance between efficiency and comfort.

Lexus focused on Steer-by-Wire control in the all-wheel-drive category, along with a Formula-inspired Yoke steering wheel. The vehicle also features Interactive Manual Drive, which simulates the feel of manual gear changes via paddle controls , and DIRECT 4, which intelligently distributes power between the front and rear engines to enhance stability.

The F Sport trim comes equipped with 20-inch wheels and wider rear tires for improved handling. The cabin combines a serene atmosphere with leather and Alcantara upholstery, dynamic ambient lighting, and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A 3D Digital Panoramic Monitor system is also available for enhanced visibility during precise maneuvers and on rough roads.

Lexus places safety as a core part of the driving experience through systems that include: Lane Tracing Assist , Lane Departure Alert , Dynamic Radar Cruise Control , Adaptive High Beam ( AHS ), Blind Spot Monitoring ( BSM ), Safe Exit Assist , Rear Cross Traffic Alert ( RCTA ), and Pre-Collision System ( PCS ).

The purpose of these systems is not limited to protecting passengers, but also extends to reducing stress and fatigue on the driver, especially while driving in traffic, on highways, and during daily use.

Emergency and service equipment

The new Toyota and Lexus models come equipped with a tire repair kit (which includes an air compressor and emergency adhesive), as well as a Type 2 charger and a Type 1 charger. For a limited time, they also offer a home charging unit with the car to ensure a complete charging experience.

Toyota Egypt Group confirms its commitment to providing an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty on the battery, electric motors, and main power unit—the core components of both Toyota and Lexus vehicles—for all other vehicle components. In addition, a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty is provided on all other vehicle components for both Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
