Zawya - Press Releases: Cambridge Health Group announces the expansion of Cambridge Hospital Jeddah with the addition of 70 beds, and the introduction of surgical capabilities and specialized rehabilitation services.
Abu Dhabi | Cambridge Health Group, the leading provider of post-acute care services in the GCC and a subsidiary of Amanat Holdings PJSC (“Amanat” or the “Company”), today announced a major expansion of Cambridge Hospital Jeddah with an investment of approximately SAR 100 million, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to developing specialized post-acute care and rehabilitation services across the GCC.
The project will increase the capacity of Cambridge Hospital Jeddah from 200 to approximately 270 beds by adding up to 70 new beds and establishing the first specialized rehabilitation hospital in Jeddah with inpatient and outpatient services. The upgraded facility, equipped to the highest standards, will also include three rehabilitation rooms with robotic technology, serving both inpatients and outpatients. These rooms are designed to support comprehensive treatment programs and improve long-term quality of life. This expansion builds on the success of the previous phase of the facility's growth, which doubled its capacity from 100 to 200 beds, and reflects Cambridge Health Group's response to the increasing demand for specialized and high-intensity rehabilitation services in the Western Region.
As part of the project, Cambridge Health will also add two operating rooms dedicated to musculoskeletal and spinal procedures and surgeries, establishing an integrated care model that links surgical intervention, inpatient care, and outpatient rehabilitation. This will enhance the group's ability to provide continuity of integrated care, from surgery to rehabilitation and functional recovery, within a comprehensive care network.
With the project's completion by early 2028, Cambridge Health's total capacity across the GCC will rise to approximately 800 beds, reinforcing its position as the largest provider of post-acute care services in the region and marking a significant milestone in the group's medium-term growth plan to reach 1,000 beds.
Dr. Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cambridge Health Group, said: “This investment reflects our long-term strategic vision to enhance Cambridge Health Group’s leading position in the post-acute care and rehabilitation sector across the GCC. The Jeddah expansion is of particular importance, as it combines increased capacity with enhanced service offerings, enabling us to provide a more comprehensive care system that extends from surgery to rehabilitation and recovery.”
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a market of strategic importance to Cambridge Health Group, and this project aligns with our goal of building a high-quality, scalable healthcare network that delivers sustainable value to patients, healthcare systems, and shareholders.”
Wael Abdullah, Group CEO of Cambridge Health Group, said: “This expansion marks a pivotal milestone in Cambridge Health Group’s growth and reflects our ongoing commitment to building a differentiated healthcare ecosystem across the GCC. By expanding Cambridge Hospital Jeddah and introducing surgical capabilities alongside rehabilitation services for inpatients and outpatients, we are enhancing our ability to deliver high-quality, integrated care across all stages of the patient journey, while addressing a clear and growing need in Saudi Arabia.”
This investment underscores our confidence in the Kingdom's healthcare transformation path and reflects our ambition to play a leading role in developing specialized post-acute care and rehabilitation services through world-class facilities, clinical excellence, and coordinated care pathways.
