Zawya - Press Releases: ICS Doha International School Receives New England Association of Schools and Colleges International (NEACI) Accreditation as a Global Standard of Excellence

In an achievement that reflects its commitment to excellence, ACS Doha International School, part of the Artemis Education Group, received widespread acclaim for its exceptional levels in both academic education and student care, at the conclusion of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges' inspection tour during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges is an American accreditation body and a long-established educational institution founded in 1885. Its scope of work includes the accreditation of public and private schools in America, as well as a wide network of international schools, specifically in Europe and the Middle East.

The Association's standards are among the most important global educational standards that ensure high-quality education in international schools following the American curriculum. They provide a clear framework for assessment in several areas, including curriculum design, teaching methods, school leadership, and the overall learning environment. Adherence to these standards ensures that students receive a holistic education aligned with global best practices, enhancing their academic performance and supporting the development of both their academic and personal skills.

In November 2025, the school received a team of five inspectors who undertook the task of independent review and evaluation of several educational principles, which included: educational evidence, educational perspectives, student interaction and autonomy, and the well-being of the educational community, to ensure that they met strict and accurate international standards .

This inspection, which lasted for several days, helped to confirm that the ACS Doha International School deserved to receive accreditation from the association, based on the school’s commitment to providing a strong and rigorous academic curriculum, along with a balanced student welfare program, to provide an inclusive environment that supports the academic and social growth of students.

It is worth noting that ACS Doha last received accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges in 2022. Since then, the school's learning community has undergone several significant changes that have strengthened its ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning. In support of this approach, the school has implemented more rigorous processes for teacher evaluation and professional development. These structures not only provide constructive feedback but also foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional collaboration. Furthermore, the school community has developed a clearer and more shared understanding of what constitutes high-quality learning, unifying the expectations and practices of the teaching staff. These developments have collectively laid a stronger and more cohesive foundation for the school, positioning ACS Doha to move forward confidently and clearly toward achieving excellence in student learning.

In this context, the inspection team noted that the school and the Artemis Education Group have “maintained their commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning environments. The campus continues to offer exceptional facilities, including science and design labs, creative arts spaces, and three libraries. The launch of the Esports and Innovation Centre in 2024 also demonstrates the ongoing investment in future-oriented learning.”

The inspection also demonstrated the school's compliance with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges' core standards. The report included an assessment of the school's educational principles and its four-part approach (cognitive acquisition, engagement, ability, and competence), as well as comments and observations on the school's master learning plans.

In his comments, Dr. Robert Jackson, Principal of ICS Doha, said: “I am delighted with the renewal of the accreditation recently granted to the school by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. ICS Doha has a long history of accreditations and mandates, but we do not consider them mere badges of honor. Rather, they are accreditations that we choose because of their precise and rigorous standards, which ensure that the standards of teaching and learning outcomes, along with outstanding student care, welfare, and extracurricular activities, elevate ICS Doha International School to remain at the forefront of educational institutions in the region.”

The guiding principles of ICS Doha remain at the heart of its identity, with its mission to inspire the next generation of global thinkers and doers. The school's educational philosophy emphasizes preparedness: equipping students to become active learners, confident individuals, proactive and caring contributors, and ready to succeed and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Based on this mission and philosophy, the pursuit of accreditation from the Association of Certified Public Schools (ACS) aligns perfectly with the school's vision, especially since universities worldwide trust the academic achievements of graduates from ACS-accredited schools. Ultimately, this accreditation ensures international recognition of degrees awarded by ACS Doha International School, significantly enhancing our students' opportunities to pursue higher education abroad with confidence and success. This is a crucial consideration, particularly in Doha and the wider GCC region, given the increasing global mobility of students.

A key component of education at ICS Doha International School is the school and its academic staff's belief that students' development and learning are best achieved when it is rooted in inquiry, concept-based learning, and active participation. Accordingly, the school prioritizes student-centered, collaborative, and reflective teaching methods that empower learners to construct meaning, take ownership of their learning, and connect knowledge across disciplines. The Association's inspection team observed this during their visit to the school, commenting that they found "ICS Doha to be a diverse, values-driven international school that is currently developing its foundations in the areas of inclusivity, global citizenship, and inquiry-based learning, supported by dedicated teachers and engaged students."

Ms. Sarah Weaver, Director of Schools at Artemis Education, added: “We at Artemis Education are delighted that ICS has received this accreditation. It simply confirms that the hard work of the school’s senior leadership team, along with the support of the wider Artemis community since its acquisition in February 2024, has truly paid off. My heartfelt congratulations go to the team, whose efforts will be fully rewarded by our students and their families. This is why we do what we do; because everything, at all times, matters most to us.”
