On the sidelines of the Eastern Province Health Investment Forum 2026
Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, outperforming all hospitals in the Eastern Province, Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) announced its first-place win of the prestigious “Ameez” award presented by the Ministry of Health, which was presented under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Eastern Province.
The award was presented during the Eastern Province Health Investment Forum in Dammam on April 7, coinciding with the celebration of World Health Day, in recognition of the center’s commitment to excellence in service, patient experience, and innovation in healthcare delivery.
The "Ameez" Award recognizes institutions that embody leadership and innovation in the healthcare sector, driving tangible improvements in patient safety and quality of care delivery. This is based on these institutions' forward-looking strategies, strong governance, and initiatives to enhance the patient experience and the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on winning this prestigious award, Dr. Howard Podolsky, CEO of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, said: “Our recognition with the Ministry of Health’s ‘Ameez’ award, under royal patronage, embodies our unwavering commitment to quality care, patient safety, and innovation. It underscores the continuous and tireless efforts of our teams and the standards we uphold in our work every day. Our focus will remain on promoting community health and well-being and contributing to the realization of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.”
It is worth noting that this achievement is part of a series of strategic projects reflecting the center's commitment to developing specialized and integrated care throughout the Kingdom and reshaping the future of healthcare. Among the most prominent of these projects was the recent launch of the Center of Excellence in Cardiovascular Diseases, its second center of excellence after the Oncology Center, a move that solidifies comprehensive specialized services across the Kingdom. Furthermore, the center achieved its highest ranking to date, securing third place in the Kingdom on Newsweek magazine's list of the world's best hospitals for 2026, further cementing its position among leading healthcare institutions.
The ceremony was attended by several senior management members from Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH), including Dr. Howard Podolsky; Dr. Russell Hills, President of Centers of Excellence; Dr. Mohammed Alghamdi, Executive Director for the Southern Region; and Willie Williamsey, President of Strategic Planning and Business Development.
