Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), the export financing arm of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, organized a workshop on export credit, with the participation of a select group of local and international credit partners, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance institutional integration within the trade finance system and support the competitiveness of UAE exports in global markets .
The workshop formed a strategic platform for dialogue and interaction with entities operating in the credit sector, where the role of credit was highlighted as an important tool in supporting export financing, enhancing risk management, and raising confidence levels in foreign trade transactions, in line with the rapid growth in the size and complexity of export activities and the diversification of target markets for Emirati exporters.
The workshop opened with a welcoming address by Khalil Fadhel Al Mansouri, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), who emphasized that developing a trade credit system is a cornerstone of building a resilient and sustainable financing environment. He noted ADEX's commitment to establishing long-term strategic partnerships with stakeholders in this sector . He stated , "Credit is a strategic element of ADEX's business model, providing effective tools for risk diversification, enhancing transaction financeability, and supporting long-term financial sustainability. This workshop is part of an institutional approach aimed at developing integrated partnerships that contribute to the sustainable growth of foreign trade."
During the workshop, various topics were reviewed, including the standards and methodologies of evaluation adopted by ADX, in addition to risk management frameworks and protocols followed in the event of facing any future challenges. This contributed to clarifying roles and responsibilities, enhancing transparency and alignment with partners. Participants were also briefed on ADX’s work in developing export financing tools, including the development of its credit portfolio in cooperation with Marsh, one of the world’s leading companies in insurance brokerage and risk management consulting, in addition to the most prominent achievements that contributed to strengthening the office’s institutional presence in international credit markets.
The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion session that allowed participants to exchange views and review opportunities for future cooperation. The discussions contributed to enhancing alignment between operational frameworks and raising the level of readiness to keep pace with global economic and trade changes .
Organizing this workshop confirms the Abu Dhabi Export Office’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with the insurance sector and developing export financing tools, which supports trade, contributes to achieving sustainable economic growth, and enhances the UAE’s position as a pivotal center for international trade finance .
