Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the French investment company TRAIL , announced the signing of a strategic partnership under which Mumtalakat will invest in the SLAM Fund, the first private equity fund of its kind focused on the sports, leisure, arts, and music sectors .

The partnership agreement was officially signed in the French capital, Paris, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, and His Excellency Mr. Nicolas Fourisier, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness of France, as part of the participation in the “Choose France” conference, the leading international conference for investment in France .

This partnership combines TRAIL ’s investment expertise and extensive knowledge of these sectors with Mumtalakat’s regional presence and long-term investment approach, which will contribute to expanding SLAM sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC region, through direct investments or by supporting the regional expansion of the fund’s portfolio companies. Under the agreement, TRAIL will open an office in Manama to serve as a hub for accessing the GCC region, supporting the development of portfolio companies’ businesses and attracting capital at the regional level .

On this occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, affirmed that this strategic partnership reflects the distinguished position that the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys, which attracts quality investments and international partnerships, noting that the investment in the “SLAM” fund is in line with the trends aimed at diversifying investment opportunities and enhancing the contribution of promising sectors in supporting economic growth .

His Excellency added that this partnership represents an important step towards attracting more global investments and expertise to the Kingdom, which contributes to consolidating its position as a regional center for business and investment, and supports the achievement of the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 by promoting economic diversification and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth in various fields .

For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, stated: “At Mumtalakat, we continue to grow our investment portfolio by forging partnerships with investors who share our long-term vision. Thanks to our collaboration with TRAIL, a new asset class will be developed in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the wider GCC region, reflecting our commitment to diversifying our investment portfolio.
